Breda
Breda (4.9%ABV) is a refreshing, full flavoured lager brewed with just 4 ingredients; water, malted barley, hops and yeast. Our special strain of lager yeast imparts a distinctively fruity flavour which balances the robust bitterness to drive a thirst for more.
Breda lager takes its name from the Dutch cathedral town of Breda, where it was first brewed in 1538. Export to the Channel Islands began shortly after the Second World War. Ever since, Channel Island Breda drinkers have been a fiercely loyal band and have been known to walk straight back out of a pubs where Breda isn’t served. The sale of the Breda brand to United Dutch Breweries in 2008 left Breda without a brewery and threatened the very survival of the brand. At that time Randalls stepped in and installed a brand new brewery to ensure Channel Islanders would never go without.
Guernsey is now the only place in the world where draught Breda is brewed.
Randalls of Guernsey are a proud member of Lagers of the British Isles (LOBI). To be a member of LOBI, brewers have to commit to using traditional techniques and only natural ingredients.
